These terms explain what you can expect from Wellness to Book, and what we expect from you. We are a marketplace: the people who actually deliver your service are independent Providers.
This document is governed by the laws of Uganda. If you have a question about it, write to hello@wellnesstobook.com.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account, making a booking or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms form a contract between you and us under the Contracts Act, 2010, and are concluded electronically as permitted by the Electronic Transactions Act, 2011.
You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
Words we use
- Platform — the Wellness to Book website and the Wellness to Book mobile apps.
- We, us, our — Wellness to Book, the operator of the Platform.
- Client — a person who uses the Platform to find and book a service.
- Provider — an independent business or practitioner who offers services through the Platform. A Provider is either a mobile provider (they travel to you) or a wellness place (you visit them).
- Booking — a confirmed request by a Client for a Provider to perform a service.
- Services — wellness, beauty, fitness, entertainment, hospitality and related services offered by Providers.
2. Our role
What we do, and what we do not do
Wellness to Book is a marketplace. We introduce Clients to independent Providers and handle booking and payment. We do not perform the services ourselves. Every massage, treatment, performance, meal or stay is delivered by an independent Provider who is responsible for it.
This means:
- The contract for the service itself is between the Client and the Provider. Our contract with you is for use of the Platform.
- Providers are independent contractors. They are not our employees, agents or partners, and they decide their own prices, availability, methods and working hours.
- We verify what we reasonably can — identity documents, business documents, and a photo check for some Providers — but verification is not a guarantee of a Provider's skill, conduct, licensing or the outcome of any service.
- Where a service is regulated in Uganda (for example physiotherapy or other allied health practice), it is the Provider's responsibility to hold and maintain the correct registration. We ask for documents; we do not license practitioners.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information, and keep it up to date. Your phone number matters — Providers use it to reach you about a booking.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account unless you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. You may hold a Provider account and still book services as a Client using the same account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used to defraud, or puts other people at risk.
4. Bookings
- A booking is confirmed when the Provider accepts it and any required payment is authorised.
- Prices are shown in UGX and include any taxes we are required to display. A Provider may charge a separate, clearly stated travel fee for in-home services.
- Give the Provider the information they need — accurate address, access instructions, and any health condition, injury or allergy relevant to the service.
- For in-home services you must provide a safe, clean, lit and private space, and a responsible adult must be present at the address.
- Be there on time. Repeated no-shows may lead to your account being restricted.
5. Payments
- We accept mobile money (MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money), card payments through our payment partners, and where a Provider allows it, payment on service.
- Payment services are provided by licensed third parties. Mobile money and payment processing in Uganda are regulated under the National Payment Systems Act, 2020. We do not store full card numbers.
- We charge Providers a commission of about 10% on completed bookings. Clients pay the price shown.
- Where you hold a wallet balance, loyalty points or promotional credit, these have no cash value, are not transferable, and may expire. They are not a bank deposit or e-money.
- Attempting to take payment off-platform to avoid fees is a breach of these terms, and removes your access to booking records, dispute support and any protection we offer.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations, refunds and no-shows are covered by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Safety
Strictly professional services
Every service offered through Wellness to Book is strictly non-sexual and professional. This is not negotiable and applies equally to Clients and Providers.
- Requesting, offering, implying or performing any sexual service is prohibited and will result in immediate and permanent removal from the Platform.
- Any Provider or Client may end a session immediately, without refund liability, if the other person behaves in a way that is sexual, threatening, intoxicated, abusive or unsafe.
- Conduct that may amount to a criminal offence will be reported to the Uganda Police Force, and we will cooperate with lawful investigations.
- Services must not be offered to or booked for a person under 18 without a parent or guardian present and consenting.
Our Community Guidelines and Safety Policy set out the full rules for behaviour, photographs and reviews, and form part of these terms.
8. Health
Not medical advice
Wellness, massage, beauty and fitness services offered through the Platform are for relaxation, grooming and general wellbeing. They are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment or advice.
- Nothing on the Platform, and nothing said by a Provider through the Platform, should be treated as a medical diagnosis or prescription.
- If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or injury, taking medication, or living with a medical condition, speak to a qualified medical practitioner before booking, and tell the Provider before the service starts.
- If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact emergency services — do not use the Platform.
- Providers must not claim to cure, treat or diagnose any disease.
9. Reviews and content
- You may only review a Provider you actually booked. Reviews must be honest, your own experience, and free of abuse, discrimination or personal data about other people.
- You keep ownership of photographs and text you upload, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them on the Platform and in reasonable promotion of the Platform.
- Only upload images you own or have the right to use. Our image rules are in the Community Guidelines.
- We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law. Knowingly publishing false statements about a Provider may expose you to liability for defamation.
10. Privacy
How we handle your personal data — including identity documents, selfies and location — is explained in our Privacy Policy. We process personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and the Data Protection and Privacy Regulations, 2021.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for the acts, omissions, quality of work, timekeeping, conduct or licensing of any Provider, because they are independent businesses.
- We provide the Platform "as is". We work hard to keep it available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income or opportunity.
- Where we are found liable in connection with a booking, our total liability for that booking is limited to the amount you paid for it through the Platform.
12. Disputes
- Talk to the Provider first — most problems are quickly resolved.
- If that fails, contact us at hello@wellnesstobook.com within 14 days of the booking. We will look at booking records, chat history and any evidence and decide in good faith.
- If a dispute cannot be resolved, it is subject to the laws of Uganda and the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda. Nothing stops you from using any consumer remedy available to you by law.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as the Platform changes or the law changes. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be notified in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
